In the fall of 2023 several thousand copies of “Your Guide to Healthy Aging in the Community” were distributed in central Ottawa in order to
- raise awareness of the challenges faced by older residents and provide some guidance for healthy aging
- draw attention to our comprehensive online Guide
- receive feedback from the community about what is missing for healthy aging in place.
- This report summarizes what the community said.
This framework, written by two nurse-practitioners (Masters of Science in Nursing) and an epidemiologist assesses the strengths of our nurse practitioner proposal and lays out a framework for its evaluation once implemented.
From the work of volunteers and community organizations, ideas for improving aging in the place of your choice are emerging.
